Gorée

From the port of Goree , started mainly in the seventeenth and eighteenth century ships laden with slaves to America . Since 1815, he abolished the trafficking of slaves , but even today we see many of the buildings dedicated to this activity (and so can be visited). Gorée is full of peculiarities. On the island do not run cars, which gives a special atmosphere itself in the XXI century. The streets are quiet and picturesque, and better , many of which lead to golden sands by the sea. The island tours depart from the port ofDakarAbout 20 minutes ferry ride. It is ideal to visit in the day, or even for a stay that will allow us to immerse ourselves in your environment .
