Wonder Of The World
The Taj Mahal is a group of building which the sultan sent Shan Jahal build between 1631 and 1654 in the city of Agra, north India.
This sultan ordered the creation of this wonder of the world (including in The New 7 Wonders of the World) in honor of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, which fallecion in the delivery of her 14 th child.
The building covered in white marble mausoleum that is the best known is the whole complex. Your representative sample of Mughal architecture Islamic art, Persian, Turkish and Hindi.
The building complex is surrounded by gardens (charbagh), inspired by the Persian tradition of representing paradise.
Other secondary buildings are: Darwaza, the masjid (mosque) by the House of Music, chattris and other small buildings.
