Bhimbetka Caves

The city of Bhopal in India, is the base from which you can visit the caves of Bhimbetka. These caves are considered World Heritage by UNESCO as the paintings covering the walls of the caves are a reflection of thousands of years of history.

The caves are an interesting and particularly where environmental conditions have allowed the preservation of the paintings, and allowing us to learn more about the past of India.

Bhimbetka caves were discovered in 1958 and since that time recognized the importance of the discovery: the 600 caves found in the complex were undoubtedly all important prehistoric caves in India and the world.

Bhimbetka caves are so large that visitors often llearnos only small sectors. The sites can not miss are:

  • Cave lions: large cave with paintings interesting from lions to turtles. They easily fit 100 people.
  • Rock Zoo: the area around this rock was so named by the number of different animals represented there.

In the caves you can see some pictures of an early period where you can see represented various gods.

There are also paintings from medieval times, much more geometric and less attention to aesthetic details.

The existence of this cave and the possibility of visiting the resort is an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with minimal notions we have about the lives of people thousands of years ago.
