The white villages route : Central Route

This route starts at Zahara de la Sierra. Located next to the reservoir to which it is named, the whole town is declared a National Monument. This small town, typical of the Cadiz mountains, is characterized by steep slopes of the layout of its streets. About 3 km. Grazalema in the direction of a path to the right leads to the Garganta Verde, fantastic place to find the Ermita de la Garganta, impressive cave with stalactites and stalagmites. From Zahara rises to 1357 meters from the Puerto de las Palomas, with a splendid view of the Park of the Sierra de Grazalema. Grazalema, one of the main towns in the area, appears at the foot of the visitor embraced by the Sierra del Pinar and Endrinal. Its narrow streets with white walls show where the various “hands-lime” have come to round corners.
Along the Sierra del Endrinal get to Villaluenga del Rosario, the highest population of white people.
